Take a large jar such as an apple sauce jar. Then put it under warm water and remove the lable with a little bit of dish soap. Let the label dry. Write a letter all aout yourself...say things such as your age, name, what your likes and dislikes are, who your best friends are, about school, activities, what your aspirations and hopes are, etc. The second letter should be about current events....write about some of the things that are going on right now, such as who the president is, recent tragedies, etc. Then roll each up into a cylinder shape and tie with a ribbon. Put both of these in the jar. Then put some of the items that represent who you are and the times that you live in such as some pictures, a news clipping, some items that are popular these days, and whatever else you want to put in there. Cover with saran wrap and then close tightly. Bury this time capsule in the back yard and dig it up in a few years to see how much you have changed.

How to Create a Time Capsule - A time capsule is a way to communicate the present day to the future. It may also be a way to preserve parts of the past - such as when a time capsule is opened and the old contents are 're-capsuled' along with current items. In addition, you can use a time capsule to place your predictions in, or your hopes of a certain project, and later on open the capsule at a time when you can 're-think' or see it with 'eyes anew'.
