Gobble, Gobble, Gobble, some of my favorite sounds because it means it is the day I eat all my favorite foods. All those mashed potatoes with gravy, the corn and of course the turkey. Maybe you are having lots of family over or it will be a nice quiet Thanksgiving just with the immediate family, but it would be nice to get in the spirit of the day and maybe make a few things as a centerpiece. Let your Thanksgiving craft flag fly and make some turkey crafts or some kids pilgrim paper crafts. Remember that the first Thanksgiving dinner had native american indians as dinner guests. As a way of remembering this at your dinner, include Canoe placeholders at the each place setting. Cut 2 canoe-shaped pieces from cardboard. Measure and cut, tan or brown crepe paper to fit the canoe-shaped pieces and glue in place. Decorate the canoe shapes with Indian symbols or designs, using paints or crayons. Glue the canoe sections together at the ends around a small paper nut cup. You might want to write each guest's name on it as well.
