Crawling through the scorching hot whipping sands the tiny armored beast makes its way across the dunes. Not many creatures could survive in this howling and unforgiving landscape, but this mini monster thrives where others would die. BEHOLD the mighty scorpion. All fear its terrible sting, and since the smaller they are generally the deadlier, the worst of them are like ninjas crawling and stalking. Now you can create one of your very own, you'll be a deity among these frightening arachnids when you make a scorpion craft of your very own. Now bow before your scorpion overlords!
This isn't a normal hand print craft because you are making a print of the side of your hand this time. So dip the side of your hand with the pinky on it in red paint, and then push the side of your hand into paper...as seen in figure #1 above. Then dip your thumb in red paint and make 3 thumbprints in the positions I show you in figure #2 above. Then paint the legs which look like #5 shapes, as seen in figure #3 above. Also paint the arms. Let dry completely. Then glue on googly eyes. Then use a black marker to draw the letter Z on each claw. There you have it, a cut cartoon scorpion picture.
The Acrylic Scorpions to Make - This is one of my instructables that I am entering in to the Halloween contest. While not your typical Halloween decoration, it really depends on where you are located. Here in Arizona we keep a look out for them. Scorpions are one of those creepy crawly little things that you have to keep your eye our for. Just as soon as your aren't looking they crawl in your shoe and guess what happens when you put your shoe on.
Wire Scorpion - Some time ago I saw a wire scorpion for sale in a souvenier shop. Fascinated, I bought one, determined to figure out how to build my own. Many trials and errors later, I figured it out. I'm not sure this is exactly how the "proffesional" one was made, and there is a bit of room for improvement, but this is definately a guide to get started.
How to Make a Wire Scorpion Making Instructions - Many view wire as a functional but unimaginative medium, used for connecting and fastening, but not much more. The reality is much different. Using only wire, some snips and a bit of imagination, you can create a myriad of creatures and projects entirely of twisted wire. With many gauges, colors and varieties, the options are endless, starting with this bold and striking wire scorpion.
