I made this heart with wings accidentally today so I thought that I would share with you how I made it. You start out doing a bit of paper folding and origami and then you start cutting a bit….what you turn up with is a valentines day card heart with wings. You can give this to somebody that you love on Valentines day.

Making Winged Hearts Valentines Day Cards with Paper Folding and Cutting
Crafts Materials Needed
– Any Paper
– Scissors
– Pencil
– Coloring Medium of Some Sort, such as Watercolors, Colored Pencils, Markers, Crayons, etc.
Step 1
If you don’t have a square piece of paper, then you can make one from a normal 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of paper by using the steps above. Just fold down the paper as you see in the picture above and then cut where the bottom of the triangle forms.
Step 2
Fold corner B to C. You will then have an ‘x’ criss-cross folded appearance.

Step 3
Now turn the page completely over to the other side.
Step 4
Now fold A over to B.
Step 5
And Fold C over to D. You will then have an asterisk, star type folded appearance.
Step 6
Now start folding B over to A.
Step 7
And then hold the paper at the bottom…with all the folds that we made in it, the paper will naturally form the appearance of the paper int he picture above.
Start pushing towards the center…inwards….
Step 8
Now your paper will look like this….fold one of the flaps forwards and one towards the back.
Step 9
Now your paper will look like this. It will look like a diamond, with a fold down the center. Hold the creased / folded portion of the diamond at the top. Hold the open part at the bottom.
Step 10
Draw a heart shape as you see above. Cut on the dotted line, making sure not to cut other places…or this won’t work.
Step 11
Your page will now look like this…with a 4 heart design. Bend corner c to corner d…in half.
Step 12
After you fold it …you will finally see a heart with wings.
Step 13
You can draw ‘u’ shapes in the wings for a feather appearance.
Step 14
This is a picture of what my heart looks like.
Step 15
I used watercolors to paint the heart red and the wings light blue…with darker blue ‘u’ shaped feathers.
Step 16
Step 17
I put white highlights in the heart and wings to make the card look better.
Step 18
Also, I wanted to mention that these cool shapes are leftovers from this project…since each will be slightly bigger or smaller than the others…it makes a really cool looking spider web design.
I hope that you had fun.
