Building a gingerbread house can be a fun tradition for families during the Christmas season. Most gingerbread houses are edible and are made from ingredients such as all purpose flour, baking soda, salt, ginger (of course!), cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, butter, brown sugar, egg, molasses and vanilla, icing (confectioner's sugar and cream of tartar, and egg white), and decorated with various candies.
But there are other ways to make a gingerbread house which do not include candies or baking, though you won't be able to eat it. You can made it recycled materials such as cardboard boxes, cardboard tubes (toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls) along with paint, construction paper, markers, etc.
