For those who may not know, the famous Mayflower was a Pilgrim ship which made a very historic voyage from England to the New World. The Pilgrims (Otherwise known as the English Colonists) are very important part of Thanksgiving history. The Pilgrims celebrated days of Thanksgiving as part of their religion. In Canada, the Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the second Monday in October while the Americans celebrate it on the fourth Thursday in November.
Since the Mayflower Ship is an important part of the Thanksgiving Day history, you can understand why Mayflower Ship crafts are quite popular with the kids. Here are some ways that children can make a Mayflower Ship.
Make a Moving Mayflower Ship - This is an adorable craft ... pull the string and the Mayflower moves both directions towards or away from Plymouth Rock.

many pieces pre-cut. I pre-cut a square 6 x 6, a sun and some water.
You can adapt these with many different items. You can paint water
and a sun, or use blue tissue paper for the water, I'm sure that
imagination can spice this project up.

Pilgrims' Voyage: A Map and The Mayflower - - This project teaches geography and history. The student makes a map
of the Pilgrims' voyage and a tiny replica of the
Mayflower.
