Thanksgiving Day is very near so now is the perfect time to make all the decorations and menu planning (second Monday in October for Canadians and fourth Thursday in November for Americans).
A popular Thanksgiving Day craft as well as decoration is the Indian Corn. Indian Corn crafts can easily be made from inexpensive materials you may already have at home such as construction paper, tissue paper, or toilet paper/paper towel rolls.
Candy Filled Paper Corn Cob - Make this craft to celebrate Fall / Autumn in a fun way.
Aztec
Maize : Corn and Maize Crafts Ideas for Kids - - Corn (maize) was a staple in the Aztec culture. Show the Aztec’s
sophisticated corn-growing techniques in a realistic diorama.
Bubble
Wrap Corn - I have been waiting to do this craft for ages but you will see that
even fun projects sometimes don’t appeal to cranky 2 year olds,
no biggie, just improvise and everyone will have fun. Although I am
doing this as a Thanksgiving craft, you can do this while learning
about nutrition, cooking or gardening too!

This ring-toss game adapts to almost any curriculum area-and it's fun

Corn
Dollies - Corn dollies have been around for many years. With origins in the
Pagan, these dolls were created to give the "corn spirit" a
home for the winter. The act of creating them is one of many customs
to celebrate the harvest. Traditional corn dollies are made from
wheat grasses or corn shucks.
Corncob
Pipe - Corncob pipes bring back memories of simpler times. A corncob pipe
has always been the preferred smoking instrument for farmers. Many
pipe enthusiasts use corncob pipes to sample pipe tobaccos because
they provide a smooth smoking experience and the cob itself lets the
taste and aroma of the tobacco shine. It isn't too difficult to make
a corncob pipe if you have access to corn.
Corn
Husk Candle Holders – You’ll be surprised at how beautifully the candlelight
dances in this craft project. But above all, do not forget SAFETY
precautions such as not leaving lit candles when you are away.
Corn
Husk Characters - Find out how Native American and farm children in past generations
made dolls from corn husks. Interview your grandparents, or other
elders, who might have made or played with these dolls. How were
their Corn-Husk Characters dressed?
Corn
Kernel Corn : Corn Cob Crafts Projects for Thanksgiving - - Since corn isn’t quite in season back here yet, we decided to
do an art project and make some corn until the “real thing”
appears. (This was simple enough for my 2 year old to do, but
still fun for my 5 and 3 year olds)
