My favorite part about religious buildings are the beautiful windows. The ornate and colorful art on the stained glass mesmerizes me. Just sitting there on a bench as the Sun reaches its fingers through, bringing the colors down to dance across your eyes; it fills you with a special kind of warmth. Its great when you can rebuild those kinds of moments in your own home and even your own bedroom. It can't help but make you feel like you're part of something bigger when you make a stained glass craft and have it hanging near by to bring in a little extra joy.
Here are some Stained Glass arts and crafts activities to entertain your creative children with beautiful windown hanging arts. Some of these are for Preschoolers and Kindergarteners, while other are for older children and teenagers. Two materials popularly used in children's stain glass crafts are cellophane and tissue paper (both in different colors). Sometimes melted crayon shavings used with wax paper and an iron (used by adults only) is a great alternative. Either way, all of these activities involve crafting stained glass-like crafts to hang on the windows.... these are all arts and crafts activities that will teach kids about ways to create stained glass looking creations.
