Groundhog day is celebrated in the United States of America on February 2 every year. Legend has it that if it is a cloudy day and a groundhog appears from its burrow then he will stay outside and spring will come early this year. If it is sunny when he appears, then the groundhog will see its shadow and go back into its burrow. If this happens, the winter will continue for 6 more weeks.
You can enjoy this day with your children by making groundhog crafts with them such as a groundhog puppet, ground hog puzzle, ground hog paper hat, or groundhog artwork, etc.
