To make this festive party hat, follow these easy directions. Glue or paste strips of colored crepe paper to a cottage cheese or some similar food container. Gather the ends of the crepe paper strips together at the top. Decorate the gathered ends with a sprinkling of stick-on stars. Poke holes on both sides of the hat. Put yarn, string, ribbon, or elastic through these holes for the under-chin tie.
Crepe paper vegetable dolls make attractive decorations for a 'Eat Healthier Vegetable Party'. Use a piece of wire twice the length desired for the doll, allowing enough for the feet. You could even use large twist ties for this. Bend and twist to form head and feet, as in figure 1. Twist a second piece of wire around neck to make arms. Bend ends to form hands. If picture wire is used the ends can be separated to form fingers, as pictured in figures 2 and 3. Pad head, arms, legs, and body with cotton and cover with crepe paper. Paint in facial features. From green crepe paper cut shapes in the form of spinach and lettuce leaves. Wrap these about the bodies of the wire dolls in the manner shown here to make spinach and lettuce vegetable dolls. Note how the legs of the spinach doll are bound together.
Make the framework of these dolls the same as you did for those described above. It is only in the dressing of these dolls that there is any difference. In the case of the tomato doll the body must be padded and shaped to resemble a tomato before the body is covered with tomato-red crepe paper. Note how the head and body of the carrot doll is made in one section. Use a piece of heavy cardboard for a base upon which to stand each doll. Make 2 slits in each base through which to slip the wire feet of the vegetable dolls.
Make this creepy Halloween witch with this little fun project. Start off with a sheet of black crepe paper that is about the size of 18 inches x 24 inches. On the longer side, measure in 4 inches and down 7 inches. Use scissors to cut down on 7 inch lines. Twist the 4 inch x 7 inch pieces of crepe paper to make the arms. Gather crepe paper thru the center the long way and tie with yarn or string to secure together. Now this will be the witch's the waist. The left-over paper above and in between the arms is folded and stapled flat at the top to make the face. Cut the head, hands and feet from construction paper. Color in and attach at proper locations. Form the witch's pointed hat, however you see fit. Paste messy yarn pieces for hair under hat. You can make other Halloween decorations such as a paper pumpkin, cat, or broomstick to combine with the witch. Tape on wall or window for a spooky Halloween decoration.
