For the paddle part, use a piece of wood 1/4 inch thick and 7 inches long. Draw a center line as a guide, and lay out the stick so that it tapers, according to the illustration. The large hole is one inch in diameter. (Parental Supervision) When boring this, sandwich the wood between two other pieces of wood, as thin wood has a tendency to split when a large hole is bored in it. Drill a smaller hole in front of this one, for attaching a string. Sand and decorate the paddle part, and attach a string about 15 inches long. For the ball, a cube of wood as described for the cup catch game, a wooden bead, or for this game try using a cork . Punch a hole in the stopper with an awl, and attach the other end of the string.
