Home > Arts and Crafts Projects >Masks > Making Paper Bag Masks
Here is a really simple craft that can be made into just about any sort of mask that you want. The picture below is of a clown and a pirate, but you could make a lion or bear or anything else you could think of. Just use your creativity and imagination. Have fun.
1. Brown paper bag which will fit over the head of the child.
2. Scissors
3. Rubber cement, paste, glue or stapler
4. Tempera paint, showcard paint, crayons, colored inks or watercolors
5. Materials such as bits of cloth, string, yarn, cotton, bottle caps, steel wool, etc. may be used for decorative purposes
1. The paper bag should be placed over the head so that the bottom of the bag rests on the top of the head. If a long bag is used sections may be cut out so that the mask fits comfortably. The front and back sections may be left full length.
2. Locate and cut openings for the eyes.
3. The mask may be decorated and features added with any of the mediums and materials listed above.
