Home > Arts and Crafts Projects > Calendars> Calendar Making
This is an old standby at Christmas and New Years time, but just the same, calendars are handy to have around, and children enjoy making them. This craft is for children to make their own personalized calendars. They can use art from magazines, comics, pictures of their family, cut-outs from holiday cards, or from their own drawings. Be as creative as possible.

calendar pads
fancy paper
old cards, pictures, old magazines, old comics, etc

Calendar pads are available in bulk at school supplies businesses and large dollar stores. Many sizes are available, and cost from one dollar and up.
For the backing, use cardboard, and cover with wallpaper or fancy paper, and cut out pictures from old greeting cards for decoration. Or you can draw pictures for each month or use pictures from other places, such as magazines. Make standup calendars from a strip of cardboard with a tab sticking out, which is folded and glued in place (see the illustration above).
