April Fool's Day (also known as All Fool's Day) is celebrated every year on April 1. This has been and always will be a very fun day for children, both young and old (especially the little pranksters). It's a day dedicated to practical jokes and hoaxes so who wouldn't enjoy it?
Instead of buying toys or props for your pranks or tricks, you can make your own using things you already have around your house. For example, you can trick your friend in to thinking you have a magic banana by taking a toothpick and sticking it into the banana somewhere along a seam and rotate the toothpick from left to right inside the banana. This way you can slice the banana without cutting the peel. When your friend peels the banana they will find that it is already sliced! Cool trick huh?
You can also make fake food for dinner, for example a fake potato using nude colored nylons stuffed with pillow batting. For this prank you will need to sew the nylons leaving only a slit in the middle. Then take a piece of yellow craft foam for the butter.
Another example, is making a spider from black pipe cleaners and a small styrofoam ball (which you will need to paint black). It's simple to make, just insert the pipe cleaners into the styrofoam ball to make the 8 legs and glue on googly eyes. That's it! You can then attach a string on to it and frighten everyone with it.
As you can see, you don't need a lot of money to buy props to prank your family and friends. I think the best pranks comes from home-made props. Use your imagination and you will be surprise what you can come up with.
Would you like to surprise a friend with a special letter? Just for fun, try this. Bend a paper clip into a U-shape. Put a small rubber band across the top and insert a stick. Then turn the stick until the rubber band is wound up. Carefully put it in an envelope and hold it tightly until you seal it. Give it to your friend and watch his surprise when he opens it.
April Fools Day is coming up on April 1st and I know that you are looking for a good trick to play on your parents and friends. Go and find a sheet of paper, an envelope, a rubber band, and a strong piece of cardboard. Cut a rectangle of strong cardboard out...it should be a bit smaller than the envelope as it will need to fit in there for the trick. Draw a really big capital letter 'G' on it. Make the width of this capital 'G' a little less than an inch wide. Now cut out the 'G' ... on each side of the 'G', cut a notch to the hold the ends of the rubber band. Look in the picture above to see what I mean. Now cut a piece of cardboard about 1/2 inch by 1 inch and place it in the opening between the rubber band, as pictured above. Twist it by turning the cardboard about 40 - 45 times.
Now, while holding the rubber band still, place the 'G' within a folded piece of paper, with the back of the 'G' towards the fold of the piece of paper. Now hold the paper tightly and place it inside the envelope with the edges down. Don't lick the envelope closed though. Ask your friend if he got this school notice too? He will take the piece of paper out of the envelope and he will jump out of his seat when the paper starts making a lot of noise and moving. It will be so funny.
Ask your parents if you may have one of their matches folders. Take out the staple and all of the matches. Decorate the front of the matches folder so that they loo like something other than matches, such as gum or maybe a miniature paper folder. Accordion pleat a strip of paper, 1/2" x 5" for the pop-up spring. Glue one end of the spring inside the folder and glue a funny face to the loose end of the spring. Close the folder and see the funny face pop up when you open it.
Lay five bits of paper on the back of a person's hand, so the a row, close together. Then tell him to blow away the papers, one one. He will try, but he will fail. Always, two or three will blow a at a time. Then you show how easily it can be done. There is a "catch" however. Put the tips of your right fingers on each of the papers they lay on your left hand, leaving only one slip free. Blow that slip away, then lift your fingers one by one, so th can blow the others in the same way.
